Engineered Metal Parts & Products
We specialize in bringing your prints to life, operating as a custom metal products manufacturer that creates a wide range of components, from drawn metal parts to custom metal stampings. Our product flexibility allows us to ship these American-made components, crafted with care for over 80 years, all over the world.
Every part we create undergoes in-depth internal quality testing before it reaches you, a standard we uphold every day. At Stevens Company, Inc. in Thomaston, CT, we take pride in the quality and precision of every piece we produce.
Crafting Metal From Print to Part
Eyelets
Eyelets are drawn metal parts with a flat, rolled, or funnel-shaped flange. We craft shorter eyelets in a progressive die where the part is carried from operation to operation on the actual metal coil used in making the part. Longer draws are typically made in a transfer press where the machine carries the part through for precise results.
Stampings
Stampings are crafted by blanking and forming metal parts in a progressive die, where the metal coil used in making the part carries it through each step.
Deep Drawn Parts
Deep drawn parts are components where their length measures greater than or equal to one half their diameter. We typically manufacture these in transfer presses, where a machine carries the parts to form them step-by-step from flat metal into a hardened, seamless 3D shape that’s even stronger than the original material.
Miniature Deep Drawn Parts
Miniature deep drawn parts are tiny, usually under 0.125 inches (3.17mm) in diameter and up to 1.375 inches (34.92mm) long. We make these parts in transfer presses that we designed and built right here at Stevens, using long strokes and miniature machine components for precision.
Grommets, Rivets, & Fasteners
Grommets are metal parts that protect or insulate ropes or cables passing through fabric sheets or panels, preventing tears. Our aluminum grommets and spur washers are used in mailbag production and repairs, while decorative oval brass grommets add a stylish touch.
We also manufacture rivets and fasteners for a variety of industries, from automotive and aerospace to electronics and consumer tools/appliances.
Formings
Formings are metal parts created by blanking and shaping in progressive dies, with the metal coil used in making the part guiding it through each step. Through forming, we can produce a wide range of configurations by bending and shaping the raw material, all while ensuring precise, consistent specifications for large production runs.
